Know Your Rights
Under 49 USC §14103, carriers must reimburse drivers for lumper fees within 15 days of receiving the receipt. Carriers cannot coerce drivers to pay lumper fees out of pocket.
Always obtain an itemized receipt. If a facility refuses to provide one, note the date, location, amount, and names of personnel involved.
